Anubis Blessing in Grim Trials

Grim Trials Anubis Blessing guide covering the v1.0.20260824 balance change, ranged-build impact, Three Headed Snake quest and Yima verification.

Grim Trials Anubis Blessing guide

Anubis is one of the strongest individually verifiable Blessings in Grim Trials because the developer explicitly changed it after launch. Version v1.0.20260824 says the Anubis Blessing was adjusted as part of ranged-build balancing, in the same patch that rebalanced ranged attack combinations and ranged weapon cooldowns. A post-launch completion route also links an Anubis-related Blessing to Pytra's Three Headed Snake side quest, where it must be obtained in the same run as a Yima-related Blessing while using a specified crossbow. The exact English card text and current numerical effect are not yet independently verified here, so this page focuses on what the evidence actually supports.

Patch-aware guide: Anubis is officially confirmed, but its exact effect text and numbers are not published here without a current English in-game capture. Any Anubis build advice recorded before v1.0.20260824 should be treated as potentially stale.

What is the Anubis Blessing?

The safest answer is simple: Anubis is a real Grim Trials Blessing and it is important enough that the developers singled it out in a post-launch balance patch. The August 24 update did not merely make a generic Blessing adjustment. It specifically states that the Anubis Blessing was adjusted as part of ranged-build balancing.

That gives Anubis stronger evidence than many names currently known only from community completion lists. We know the Blessing exists in the released game, we know it interacts closely enough with ranged play to be part of a ranged-balance pass, and we know advice from launch week can become outdated. What the patch does not provide is the full current English effect description or exact numerical before-and-after values. Those should not be invented from context.

What changed in v1.0.20260824?

The Anubis adjustment appeared in a section titled around ranged attacks and boss balance. The same section also says several ranged attack combinations were rebalanced and ranged weapon cooldowns were adjusted to reduce overly powerful combinations while keeping ranged builds viable. That surrounding context is valuable because it tells us how to interpret Anubis: whatever its exact card text is, the developers considered it relevant to ranged-build power.

This also changes how a wiki should handle build recommendations. A launch-day clip showing a very strong Anubis interaction is not automatically proof of current performance. Likewise, a guide written against the demo cannot be copied into the release section without a version warning. Anubis should always be discussed with a verification date or patch identifier.

Current rule: if an Anubis build guide does not state whether it was tested before or after v1.0.20260824, treat its damage and cooldown conclusions cautiously.

How should you use Anubis in a ranged build?

Without the current English effect card, this site will not pretend to know a universal rotation or exact DPS gain. The useful evidence-based advice is instead about build structure. Grim Trials' official design combines a melee weapon with a crossbow and allows randomized Blessings to modify the run. Since Anubis was changed during a ranged-balance pass, it belongs in the same decision space as crossbow uptime, ranged cooldowns and boss pressure.

That means Anubis should be evaluated together with the ranged weapon you are actually using, not as an isolated tier-list object. If your build already depends heavily on crossbow pressure, an Anubis offer may be more relevant than it is for a melee-heavy run. If your damage plan relies on a very specific old ranged combination, however, the August 24 cooldown and combination changes mean you should re-test the full loop rather than assuming Anubis alone preserves it.

For boss fights, consistency matters more than theoretical peak output. The same patch that changed Anubis explicitly tied ranged-combination tuning to boss encounters. A ranged setup that once deleted a boss through a short high-power loop may now require more normal attack windows, positioning and cooldown management.

Anubis and the Three Headed Snake quest

Anubis also has one of the clearest quest crossovers in the current community-documented release route. The post-launch guide for Snake Charmer says Pytra's Three Headed Snake side quest asks the player to equip a guided crossbow and obtain two specific Blessings in the same Trial Ground run: one associated with Anubis and one associated with Yima.

The guide's Spanish localization records the pair as “Balanza de Anubis” and “Punzada de Yima.” Those labels are useful for identification, but they should not be silently converted into guessed official English card names. The important player-tested route is the combination requirement: both Blessings must appear during the same run while the required crossbow is equipped, after which the player can return to Pytra to finish the quest.

Because Blessing offers are randomized, the same guide recommends repeating an early Trial Ground area until both appear. That is practical post-launch routing, not an official guaranteed spawn method. Randomness means the number of attempts can vary.

Why Yima matters to Anubis

Yima is less strongly documented than Anubis at the official level, but it appears in two useful release-data contexts: the current Omnitheism checklist and the Three Headed Snake quest route. That makes Anubis + Yima the strongest currently documented pair for a Blessing-specific quest page.

The pair should not be generalized into “Anubis always synergizes with Yima in every build.” The evidence supports a quest condition, not a universal mechanical synergy claim. If future English in-game captures show that their effects interact strongly in ordinary builds, that can be added later. For now, the relationship we can safely publish is that the player-tested Pytra quest asks for both in one run.

Does Anubis count for Omnitheism?

This is where the public evidence becomes messy. Official patch notes clearly prove the Anubis Blessing exists. Meanwhile, the current community Omnitheism checklist documents 24 entries but does not visibly include an item labeled Anubis. There are several plausible explanations — display-name differences, localization, how the checklist groups Blessings, or achievement-tracking behavior — but none is strong enough to present as fact.

The safest completion strategy is therefore to select Anubis at least once whenever it appears if you are still working toward Omnitheism. Do not skip an officially confirmed Blessing just because a static third-party list does not show the same label. The dedicated Omnitheism Guide explains the broader 24-entry checklist and the tracking uncertainty.

How Anubis fits the Blessing database

In the site's Blessing Database, Anubis is tagged at a higher evidence level than most entries because it is named directly in an official post-launch patch. That makes it a good example of how the database should evolve: first verify that the Blessing exists, then capture the current effect card, then add upgrade behavior, weapon interactions and finally patch-aware build advice.

At the moment, the missing piece is a clean current-version English in-game capture. Until that is available, publishing exact percentages or a detailed “best Anubis build” would create false precision.

Is there a best Anubis build?

Not one this site can responsibly rank yet. The strongest supported conclusion is that Anubis is relevant to ranged builds and that the developers reduced or changed part of that interaction after launch. A real best-build page would need the current effect text, current crossbow data, current cooldowns, weapon effects and testing against multiple bosses.

For now, use Anubis as a patch-sensitive ranged option and evaluate it in context. If your run is already ranged-heavy, it deserves attention. If your build is melee-focused, do not force a weak ranged plan merely because Anubis has a recognizable name. And if you are completing Three Headed Snake, prioritize the quest requirement over abstract tier-list value.

Image and video status

Search results for “Anubis” are heavily contaminated by other games, especially Assassin's Creed Origins, so unrelated jackal-headed artwork is deliberately excluded. The repository continues to use the local Grim Trials Skill Tree/build image until a verified current-game Anubis selection card can be stored locally.

We also searched for a focused current-version Grim Trials Anubis video. No video was sufficiently specific and clearly versioned to serve as stronger evidence than the official patch notes and current post-launch quest route, so no generic trailer is embedded.

Anubis Blessing FAQ

Is Anubis officially in Grim Trials?

Yes. The v1.0.20260824 post-launch patch explicitly names the Anubis Blessing.

Was Anubis nerfed?

The official wording says Anubis was “adjusted” as part of ranged-build balancing. Without official before-and-after effect values, this site avoids reducing that to a precise nerf percentage or claiming every part of the Blessing became weaker.

Does Anubis work with crossbows?

It is directly associated with ranged-build balancing in the patch notes, and a player-tested Pytra quest requires an Anubis-related Blessing while using a specified crossbow. Exact general-build interactions still need current effect-card verification.

What Blessing pairs with Anubis for Three Headed Snake?

Current post-launch player testing says the other required Blessing is Yima-related, obtained in the same run.

Should I take Anubis for Omnitheism?

Yes if you have not taken it before. Official evidence confirms Anubis exists, even though the current third-party 24-entry checklist does not show that name directly.
