That does not justify saying those versions can never happen; it only describes the released platform lineup as currently documented.

Did Switch and Switch 2 launch at the same time?

Yes. Nintendo has separate official product pages for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, and both list August 20, 2026. The Switch 2 release is therefore not a later upgrade that arrived months after the original Switch edition; both were part of the announced launch window.

The later v1.0.20260829 update added clearer boss-room cues, reduced movement-stopping obstacles, improved melee telegraph/tracking behavior and rebalanced Acedia's summoned enemies.
